Rosebuds
9”x 12” original acrylic on canvas board by Artist Tammie O’Neal.
Sometimes, I like to combine my with flowers for a love of painting abstract. When I was in high school, I worked at a florist shop in Independence, Kansas. I can still remember the intoxicating smell of a cooler full of flowers. Valentine’s Day is a hectic time in a florist shop, but I remember the joy of designing the bouquets. You know those flowers are going to bring joy to someone. This is one bouquet that will last for decades. j
I enjoyed painting this loose interpretation of rosebuds with their leaves and textures. A traditional mauve pink felt fresh and cheerful. Combining green leaves and mauve leaves moves your eye around the painting. Dark green shapes and deep pinks help add depth to the work.

16”x 20” Original Acrylic with Gold Leafing on Stretched Canvas
by Artist Tammie O’Neal
Meet Seahorse Dreams, a serene sweet seahorse brought to life with one of my all-time favorite color combinations—turquoise, gold, and bronze. There’s something so fun and exciting about a ocean creature that has the face of a horse. They are so adorable and gentle. The fact that the males end up carrying the babies is amusing to me. Thanks for stepping up guys!
This piece is layered with texture and movement, designed to evoke the peaceful ripple of water. The gold leafing catches the light just right, like sunlight dancing across the sea’s surface. I used some line work on this piece bringing out more details. I absolutely love illustration so it can often show up in my paintings.
When I moved to Jenks I took the leadership class and we were treated to a behind the scene tour of the Jenks Aquarium. We got to see so many lovely creatures and I highly recommend taking a tour of the aquarium.
This piece is perfect for those who appreciate nature’s elegance and the peaceful balance of color, texture, and light. There are others in this series.
Check out the Jenks Aquarium.

by Artist Tammie O’Neal
Meet Seamore, a serene sea turtle brought to life with one of my all-time favorite color combinations—turquoise, gold, and bronze. There’s something about these gentle creatures that has always spoken to my soul. In fact, years ago, while painting a watercolor turtle, I felt a nudge—it was the moment I knew it was time to step into my calling as an artist.
This piece is layered with texture and movement, designed to evoke the peaceful ripple of water. The gold leafing catches the light just right, like sunlight dancing across the sea’s surface. My favorite part? Seamore’s sweet little face. You’ll find a subtle texture on his neck and face that gives him depth—something that’s even more striking in person.
Fun fact: I live in Jenks, Oklahoma, home to a world-class aquarium that houses the largest collection of bull sharks in the world. But my favorite resident there? A gorgeous sea turtle named Seamore. And yes—you guessed it—this painting is named in his honor.
This piece is perfect for those who appreciate nature’s elegance and the peaceful balance of color, texture, and light. I absolutely love this little guy with his sweet serene face. When standing next to him you want to reach out and pet his gentle face.

She is Grace
11”x 14” original acrylic on stretched canvas by Artist Tammie O’Neal.
I feel joy when I am in the presence of horses. They symbolize so many things to me like freedom and strength. They have a gentle beauty and can be fierce when they need to be. They are quite unpredictable which is part of their charm. I prefer the partnership and trust between the horse and rider more than submission. Have you ever watched a professional trainer who respects the horse. In just a few minutes they develop a relationship of trust with the animal. They read the body language of the horse with a sensitivity that amazes me. I hope my love for horses shows through my work.

This one was an exercise in joy. The color just made me so happy when I painted it and I enjoyed interpreting the wall border and the texture on the table. This painting actually has a companion painting of Daisies. You can see them here. Daisy Bouquet

I have always adored horses. From the time I was a small child I was fascinated by them. I can still remember painting an oil “paint by number” horse when I was very small. I spent hours drawing and painting horses over the years.
When I was painting this pony I had a vision of him running through standing water and the water splashing around him. I wanted to keep it all to a cool palette to enhance the cool refreshing feeling of running through water on a hot day.
