I feel joy when I am in the presence of horses. They symbolize so many things to me like freedom and strength. They have a gentle beauty and can be fierce when they need to be. They are quite unpredictable which is part of their charm. I prefer the partnership and trust between the horse and rider more than submission. Have you ever watched a professional trainer who respects the horse. In just a few minutes they develop a relationship of trust with the animal. They read the body language of the horse with a sensitivity that amazes me. I hope my love for horses shows through my work.

I love horses and have loved them all of my life. Some of my earliest memories are of drawing and painting horses. I really enjoyed painting this one as I have been playing with non local colors. Notice the pops of blue and turquoise. This one turned out so well I hope to do a similarly inspired one much larger. Of course it will be different as no two works are every identical.
