Hydrangeas have always been one of my favorite flowers, their lush, abundant blooms are simply irresistible. While growing them in Oklahoma’s intense sun has been a challenge, painting them allows me to bring their beauty to life in a whole new way.
This piece was a joyful exploration of abstraction, letting the background and flowers flow freely with expressive movement and rich texture. I loved the freedom in each brushstroke, capturing the essence of hydrangeas rather than every detail. The result is a piece that feels both organic and energetic—a celebration of nature’s beauty in full bloom.
